Dear Parent/Carer

Jammy Jog – Friday 20 February 2015 from 9:30am

As you know we are having a jammy jog in Kelvingrove Park this Friday to raise money for school funds and to support one of our teachers, Sean Rankine P6a, who is trying to raise up to £10000 for CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association of Scotland) by participating in the “Marathon de Sables” in April.

Our preparations are going well and we are hopeful that the weather will stay dry.

We will start from the bottom gate, at the Grove, that opens out into Kelvingrove Park at 9:30am. We will also have the gate on Otago Street open to enable parents to access the park.

The children should come to school with their pyjamas/onesies on over their clothes. They should have their coats, jackets on top. Some children have asked can they bring a change of clothes in case they are needed and we think this is a good idea.

The children will all follow the same route initially and then the infant children will continue on one circuit and the older children will continue in another.

It is not a race! It is a fun activity and all we ask is that everyone does their best. We reckon that we should all be finished between 10:30am and 11:00am.

We have had a lot of media interest and hope that we can feature in some local media to promote the charitable work of CHAS and the endeavour and generosity of our parents and children.

Please ensure that your child’s sponsorship form is returned as soon as possible after the event.

Sean Rankine’s just giving page is www.justgiving.com/Sean-Rankine1 for anyone who wants to make a separate donation.

The children will also be participating in an assault course as part of their task. This will be happening during PE this week and next.

If you can come along on Friday we would be delighted to see you.

Thank you once more for your fantastic support!
