A Great Night!
The Parent Council International Social evening on Thursday 6th December 2012 was a great success. All 400 tickets were given out and there was a lovely mix of adults and children from a wide range of international backgrounds. The food was amazing and a big thanks to all those who went to considerable effort to make delicious national dishes.
We had a fashion show and dance routine from the Maryhill Integration Network, a fabulous demonstration of several Fitness Friday songs by the children present and a great live music set from Ken McCluskey and a parent led band.
It was a great atmosphere in which to get to know other parents better and make new friends. Many thanks to Astrid who headed up the organisation, to all those who were involved in putting the event together and to the janitorial staff who supported the set up and strip down so helpfully.
Thanks also to Andrew from The Reclaimer who provided environmentally disposable plates, napkins, tablecloths and cutlery. As a result of his efforts, literally everything was either recycled or composted and, from an event with food for nearly 400 people, not a single piece of landfill waste was generated. For a school striving to be eco-friendly, this was a great result!
If you were able to come along to the event, thanks for coming and we hope you enjoyed it. If you were not able to come, look out for the next one!
