Gala Volunteers

Posted on May 13, 2013 in Latest News, Parent Council News | No Comments

The Gibson Street Gala is taking place on Sunday 2 June from 12-6pm and we are looking for lots of parent volunteers to help us with the various activities which will be taking place in the school.

There are lots of things planned, many of which are possible thanks to a grant which the Parent Council has secured from the local Area Committee. These include: a ‘beach’ area in the Piazza playground with a sand pit, sand toys and outside games; beach and sea related arts and crafts activities; face painting; a story teller; a sea-based mural being completed by the children; and many other children friendly activities along the side of the school on Otago Street.

We need volunteers in the following areas:

• Setting up the hall, gym and Piazza playground where most of the Parent Council led activities will take place before the event starts at 12

• Helping to run arts and crafts activities

• Face painting

• Overseeing the ‘beach’ area and outside games set up in the Piazza playground

• Helping to clear up at the end of the day.

A Doodle poll has been sent to all the parents who are on the Parent Council gmail list and you can sign up to help there. If you would like to be part of this list, please email us on hillheadprimaryparentcouncil@gmail.com and we will happily add you to the list.

Otherwise please complete the tear off slip in the letter below and return it to the school office.
