Primary 7 – Reading Buddies Project

This term, Primary 7 have been working on a project called ‘Reading Buddies’.  This has involved training the Primary 7 pupils the ‘Paired Reading’ skills required to sharing stories with younger children.  It involved choosing suitable books, ensuring the stories had a simple style and were colourful, with good images to guarantee all the infants would be able to enjoy the story telling sessions.  The Primary 7 pupils were then asked to evaluate their own success.  All the children really enjoyed the project and the teachers were very impressed by Primary 7’s hard work and responsible attitude in working with the younger pupils in Primary 1 and Primary 2.  We hope to continue with ‘Reading Buddies’ regularly in the New Year.  Well done to you all.
